Clinical Neuropsychology

Formal Specialty Definition: 

Clinical Neuropsychology is a specialty that applies principles of assessment and intervention based upon the scientific study of human behavior as it relates to normal and abnormal functioning of the central nervous system. The specialty is dedicated to enhancing the understanding of brain-behavior relationships and the application of such knowledge to human problems.

Levels of Specialty Training: 

Education, training, and supervision in Clinical Neuropsychology is available primarily at the postdoctoral level, although preparation begins at the doctoral level.

Specialty Board Certification: 

Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology is available through the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology, which is a Specialty Board of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
