Formal Specialty Definition: 

Clinical Psychology is a general practice and health service provider specialty in professional psychology. Clinical Psychologists assess, diagnose, predict, prevent and treat psychopathology, mental disorders, and other individual or group problems to improve behavior adjustment, adaptation, personal effectiveness and satisfaction.

Levels of Specialty Training: 

Specialty training is offered at the doctoral as well as at the postdoctoral level.

Specialty Board Certification: 

Board Certification in Clinical Psychology is available through the American Board of Clinical Psychology, which is a Specialty Board of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
